Knowles Door Check Co. is a builders hardware company who specializes in aluminum storefront door hardware. We have been serving the storefront industry since 1959. We sell mainly to Glazing Subs, providing the special knowledge of their aluminum doors that is not found in the standard Builders Hardware firm. Most builders hardware companies provide hardware for the interior of a building which makes sense since they are also selling the interior doors. This provides them with the knowledge to ensure that the hardware they are providing is correct in function and compatible with the type of door, opening, and application they are using. However, since they are not providing the aluminum doors and frames, they do not posses the information that is important when specifying hardware for the applications specific to storefront doors. As well the installation of hardware onto aluminum doors also requires specific knowledge of the construction of those doors.
